XTB 4: Travels Unravelled
There is a free memory Verse card included in this issue that splits into four ways of learning Memory Verses from Exodus, Matthew and Acts.
One piece is a jigsaw puzzle, another a little mobile of planet earth, another piece folds into a picture frame and the last piece becomes a helicopter that is ready to fly in just two folds!
Issue Four of XTB is called Travels Unravelled. Three months of Bible readings to help you explore the very first Easter in Matthew's Gospel, wander through the wilderness with the Israelites in exodus, and join Paul as he travels to Rome in Acts. We'll dip into some of Paul's letter as well.
XTB (eXplore The Bible) is a series of daily Bible reading notes for children of the 7-11 age group, with puzzles, pictures and prayers.
XTB is beautifully presented with full-color illustrations and is a series of 12 books which, if used on a quarterly basis, will help a child cover all of the main books, themes and characters of the Bible in 3 years.
Look out for Table Talk - a book of daily Bible times for families with children aged from 4 upwards. The Bible passages are the same each day for XTB and Table Talk - so you can use the two books together, or on their own. Whichever suits you best.
Table of contents
- Days 1-10 look at the final part of Acts, chs 23-28
- Over days 11-15 there's a chance to look at some of the letters Paul wrote to the people he met in Acts.
- We get back into Exodus chs 13-17 over days 16-25
- And then again to Matthew chs 26-28 over days 26-45
- Days 46-65 pick up in Exodus again and we go through chs 19-33 with a little look back at Matthew ch 5 on day 54, relevant to Exodus
- A series of puzzles and questions at the very end of the book offer a chance to look into other parts of the Bible not covered here. There is also a little bit of serious code-cracking to do on the very last page.

Brilliant(Review written for 'XTB Subscription')
We have been XTB with our 8 year old daughter for over a year now, we use it as 'quiet time' before she goes to bed. She enjoys it so much and it has taught her to think about the Bible far more then if we had just been reading the bible with her. We will continue to do XTB with her every night and will start doing it with her younger sister as she gets older too. What a brilliant concept and very well presented.
Great notes!(Review written for 'XTB Subscription')
My kids really enjoy these and will choose to do them over other stories. Clear, simple and varied applications each day.
Great for children in KS2(Review written for 'XTB Subscription')
Full of colour, puzzles and activities. My 9 year old daughter happily sits and reads it by herself as the level is accessible and activities fun.
Excellent resource for discipline your kids
Been using these books for the last five years - they are an excellent way to engage young kids with the bible. We use them at bedtime and the kids really enjoy working through them. Ideal for ages 5-10. Would highly recommend them.
XTB is great, but this is not really a year's subscription(Review written for 'XTB Subscription')
We love XTB (me and my 6 year old son). It helps to really understand the gospel, not just the bible stories. I think however that it's not right to call this a year's subscription. 1 issue contains 65 days of bible studies and you receive 4 issues over the year, which is only 260 days of bible studies and not the 365 days a year has. I think this should be more clearly advertised!
I completely understand your frustration with the number of full XTB pages per issue - I know it's not ideal. For various reasons it simply wasn't possible to include 90 full days in each issue, and the reality is that there are many children and families who don't use XTB on a daily basis.
But I was very keen that anyone who was reading the Bible every single day didn't suddenly run out of Bible passages to read and think about. That's why you will find 26 extra readings at the back of the book. Each one gives a passage to read, a question to answer and a wordsearch to find that word in. It's not ideal, but was the best option we had to fill in the gap before the next issue.
I do hope you and your son continue to enjoy exploring the Bible together, and that XTB can help with that, even if not in the ideal way. Thanks again for writing your review.
Excellent bible study notes for children(Review written for 'XTB Subscription')
I have found the XTB resource to be such a wonderful bible study tool and aid for our primary school children (7-9) I would definitely recommend it to parents who are considering to purchase it for there children who want to grow in the bible knowledge and spiritual growth as this is pitched a the right level.
Kicks kids off with independent bible study(Review written for 'XTB Subscription')
We have used table talk, a Good Book resource for many years with all 4 of our children. We have recently tried XTB with our 8 year old who is really enjoying it and is familiar with the design. It is really great to see her do her own Bible Study every night, and get into (hopefully) a lifelong love of the scriptures. I would really reccommend this resource, Table Talk is still really great (our oldest, now 10 still enjoys it and our youngest, 5 is now answering questions), and XTB is a super follow on. We do table talk as a family every weekday morning and XTB is used every night. It's great value and teaches alot of Gods word in a simple format anyone can understand. Thanks.
happy(Review written for 'XTB Subscription')
My kids just so enjoyed doing it by themselves. They brought it over to show me. I was so happy they can do it independently. The activities book such are good exercise through the self-study. Thank you our great saviour lord...
A very helpful introduction to personal Bible study for kids.
We first bought these for our eldest son when he was almost 7, as we wanted to encourage him to read the bible and to learn to pray through what he has read by himself. XTB has been an excellent, appropriate and fun way for him to get into the bible for himself. He does it last thing at night after our family devotions and loves the fact that it is interactive, with codes and puzzles. XTB is an ideal resource to help young ones learn in an age appropriate way. I would say, depending on your child, it would be suitable for ages 6 - 9.
Excellent(Review written for 'XTB Subscription')
Excellent! Our 8 yr old boy n 6 yr old daughter love doing it first thing in the morning by themselves Takes them maybe 10 mins and they really enjoy it. We hope it will help them love God's word and get into daily habit of sitting at Jesus ' feet - it seems to be doing that so far .Can't recommend it enough.
