XTB 6: Footprints
Venture into the Promised land with the Israelites in Joshua.
Read more about why Jesus came in Mark's Gospel.
Issue Six of XTB is called Footprints. Three months of Bible readings to help you investigate who Jesus is and why He came in Mark's Gospel, explore the promised land with the Israelites in Joshua (where battles await!), and unravel the end of Paul's prison letter to the Ephesians.
XTB (eXplore The Bible) is a series of daily Bible reading notes for children of the 7-11 age group, with puzzles, pictures and prayers.
XTB is beautifully presented with full-color illustrations and is a series of 12 books which, if used on a quarterly basis, will help a child cover all of the main books, themes and characters of the Bible in 3 years.
Look out for Table Talk - a book of daily Bible times for families with children aged from 4 upwards. The Bible passages are the same each day for XTB and Table Talk - so you can use the two books together, or on their own. Whichever suits you best.
Table of contents
- Days 1-20 look at Mark chs 4-8
- Day 21 starts Joshua and continues until day 40 ending in ch 8
- Days 41-55 continue in Ephesians
- And back into Joshua chs 21-24 from days 56-65
- A series of puzzles and questions at the very end of the book offer a chance to look into other parts of the Bible not covered here and some budding comedians try their hand at making you laugh (or groan) on the XTB Joke Page.

Brilliant(Review written for 'XTB Subscription')
We have been XTB with our 8 year old daughter for over a year now, we use it as 'quiet time' before she goes to bed. She enjoys it so much and it has taught her to think about the Bible far more then if we had just been reading the bible with her. We will continue to do XTB with her every night and will start doing it with her younger sister as she gets older too. What a brilliant concept and very well presented.
Great notes!(Review written for 'XTB Subscription')
My kids really enjoy these and will choose to do them over other stories. Clear, simple and varied applications each day.
Great for children in KS2(Review written for 'XTB Subscription')
Full of colour, puzzles and activities. My 9 year old daughter happily sits and reads it by herself as the level is accessible and activities fun.
Perfect for primary aged kids
We have used the XTB books for the last 5 years with our three kids and have found them to be an excellent way to build devotional time with the kids at bedtime. The kids love the puzzles and humour and they are just long enough, without being too long...particularly when you have two other kids wanting your attention! I would really recommend these to any Christian parent wanting to disciple their children in the Christian faith. Lots of precious memories and laughter, thanks Good Book Company.
Really fun and faithful
My 9 year old loves these notes - sometimes we do them together and sometimes he does them on his own. Usually pitched at the right level, with lots of puzzles (codes, word searches etc) to keep him interested.
XTB is great, but this is not really a year's subscription(Review written for 'XTB Subscription')
We love XTB (me and my 6 year old son). It helps to really understand the gospel, not just the bible stories. I think however that it's not right to call this a year's subscription. 1 issue contains 65 days of bible studies and you receive 4 issues over the year, which is only 260 days of bible studies and not the 365 days a year has. I think this should be more clearly advertised!
I completely understand your frustration with the number of full XTB pages per issue - I know it's not ideal. For various reasons it simply wasn't possible to include 90 full days in each issue, and the reality is that there are many children and families who don't use XTB on a daily basis.
But I was very keen that anyone who was reading the Bible every single day didn't suddenly run out of Bible passages to read and think about. That's why you will find 26 extra readings at the back of the book. Each one gives a passage to read, a question to answer and a wordsearch to find that word in. It's not ideal, but was the best option we had to fill in the gap before the next issue.
I do hope you and your son continue to enjoy exploring the Bible together, and that XTB can help with that, even if not in the ideal way. Thanks again for writing your review.
Excellent bible study notes for children(Review written for 'XTB Subscription')
I have found the XTB resource to be such a wonderful bible study tool and aid for our primary school children (7-9) I would definitely recommend it to parents who are considering to purchase it for there children who want to grow in the bible knowledge and spiritual growth as this is pitched a the right level.
Kicks kids off with independent bible study(Review written for 'XTB Subscription')
We have used table talk, a Good Book resource for many years with all 4 of our children. We have recently tried XTB with our 8 year old who is really enjoying it and is familiar with the design. It is really great to see her do her own Bible Study every night, and get into (hopefully) a lifelong love of the scriptures. I would really reccommend this resource, Table Talk is still really great (our oldest, now 10 still enjoys it and our youngest, 5 is now answering questions), and XTB is a super follow on. We do table talk as a family every weekday morning and XTB is used every night. It's great value and teaches alot of Gods word in a simple format anyone can understand. Thanks.
happy(Review written for 'XTB Subscription')
My kids just so enjoyed doing it by themselves. They brought it over to show me. I was so happy they can do it independently. The activities book such are good exercise through the self-study. Thank you our great saviour lord...
Excellent Children's Resource
Great Bible reading tool for use with children. My children aged 8 and 9 love it. Easy to understand and great puzzles too!
