The Gospel records are extraordinary for their accounts of the encounters and conversations Jesus had with women of all kinds. But this wasn't sexual attraction - these women grew to love Him because He treated them with dignity and compassion. In an age where women were considered second-class citizens, Jesus devoted time and care to them all - the godly, the grieving, the sick, the stressed, the sinful outcasts and even the foreign 'dogs'.
But in all his dealings with women, Jesus wanted to give them the opportunity to hear and receive His good news - that however we live, we all need God's forgiveness; that whatever we have done, we can be forgiven by God, through Jesus. Women didn't only experience a welcome from Jesus; they received a brand new life of hope, joy and peace, as forgiven children of God.
Worldwide the good news of Jesus still transforms the lives of countless women today. By using this Good Book Guide to examine the encounters of these eight women who met Jesus, you too can learn about His liberating good news, discover what it means to have true faith, and experience His transforming power in your life.

Here at Covenant Life Church, we have greatly benefitted from the small group resources from The Good Book Company. Many small groups in our family life ministry have used "Colossians: Confident Christianity" in their study of scripture. Additionally, our youth ministry has used "Romans 1-5: God and You" in their small groups. Both resources were very easy to use, helped the reader engage directly with the scriptures, and had a wonderful pastoral emphasis demonstrated in all the questions.

We are a group of 6 women who meet once a week for Bible Study. We found the Old Testament studies on women very thought provoking and helpful. We are now working our way through the New Testament studies and once again are finding them to be a very good resource.
Having used a number of your Bible study books over the past few years this one was rated the best so far! Our group is made up of more mature women and we all felt it was written well with helpful answers and really opened our understanding of these women and their encounter with Christ.
Recommended Study guide
Used Meeting Jesus - Women of the New Testament - with a newly formed women's study group many of whom had not been at a bible study before. We found it thorough, thought provoking and suitable for believers and those not there yet! Ready to buy the OT one for the autumn term.
Good and encouraging
My group is all female and all over 50 years of age, having come together following an Alpha course. This book is helping to develop their knowledge of the Bible and to join in discussion and share personal experiences.
Excellent, helpful and thought provoking
I would thoroughly recommend meeting Jesus study notes. The whole book took longer than we thought as each study encouraged us to sink deeper into the bible creating much discussion. I enjoyed it as a single study aswell as a group study. Extremely thought provoking and helpful.
An excellent set of studies.
Our women's group has a span of ages between 20 and 60 years. We feel that we have greatly benefited from the studies which made us examine the suggested bible passages as well as related ones. We have found that in order to do justice to each study we have divided them between two meetings. The studies stimulated productive discussion and provided pointers for prayer. I can highly recommend them.
This is an excellent study of some of the women who Jesus met with and transformed during his time on earth.
