Apt. Realistic. I hope it also talks about divorce and remarriage!!!

Women in our society today suffer a lot of social, emotional, singleness and even marital hazards, e.g. homelessness, familyness-ness (i.e. lack of belonging to a family unit, they are just member of the society), divorce, remarriage and obviously lack of money and guidance. this your book is a very good step in the right direction to help women who can get their hands on it.

Biblically Faithful

The Good Book Guide to Biblical Womanhood includes nine studies for individuals or groups as well as a leader's guide. This guide is excellent because it is Biblically faithful, short yet deep, and practical. Not surprisingly, this booklet is largely about our design, how we relate to God, and how we relate to others. It has some excellent application questions such as "How can I pursue true, unfading beauty for myself, and encourage others in that too?" (pg. 26).

One of the benefits of Bible Study is that often, Biblical truth is more readily assimilated when it is discovered as oppose to being taught. Don't get me wrong, these guides won't let you discover "your truth" while I discover "mine," but they will allow you to dig and ponder a bit before briefly expounding upon the truth of Scripture.

If I were using this book with a group of ladies, I would rearrange the lessons a bit as I would want to cover "Women and their Lord" before covering any other relationships. It is worth noting that this guide does include a lesson on marriage and a lesson on singleness and is equally applicable to both seasons of life.

May God use this study as a means of grace in your life to make you more like Him!!

* Many thanks to The GoodBook Company for sending me this guide in exchange for my honest opinion!

NOT really letting the Bible do the talking...

We did this study in an all-woman group. Some studies were better than others but there were times when the writer clearly imposed her own views on the material and the way it was presented. We had to add our own knowledge about the cultural context of the passages in order to make real sense of it.

Good study material

We're doing this in our all-girls small group. Sometimes questions may be rather irrelevant/self-evident, but overall a good way of challenging and reaffirming our thoughts

Very challenging

Excellent study - thought provoking and practical. Would recommend to all Christian women - I have been married for forty years and was still challenged by God's plan for us.

A great biblical & practical resource - particuarly good for groups.

I've used this booklet for a number of years with different groups of 6th form Christian girls. Each time it has been wonderful seeing the girls uncovering for themselves what the Bible says about womanhood. The pattern is often from resentment & suspicion to wonderful liberation as they discover our true identities as women as God intended.
The first 3 chapters are particularly helpful in thinking through basic issues of gender differences from creation & fall.
The 6th formers find chapter 5 on 'Women & Beauty' helpful, but my favourite is Chapter 9: 'Women & their Lord' which is a wonderful reminder of our priorites as Christian women.
Thoroughly recommend this resource. The notes at the back are very helpful - but as always shouldn't be used to shortcut preparation.

Great bible studies; an invaluable resource for all Christian women!

A fantastic series of Bible Studies that ground our identity as women in God's original design and then goes on to look at how that is effected by the fall, and plays out in relationship, self-image, church and before God. I found that they are especially good at helping women to see the uniqueness and nessecity of their role, empowering them to serve but within Godly boundaries.

The studies are really clearly laid out and are excellent for working through in pairs or small groups. Occasionally the questions (especially the contextualising ones,) can seem a little confusing and the study leader having done some prep pays dividends.

Recommended reading for every Christian woman

I used this guide for my quiet times by splitting one study over several days, and found that it worked well. I found it challenging to learn that I had been more influenced by the world than I had realised, and the guide helped me to gain a better Biblical understanding of many issues, including those I thought I 'knew' already.
