excellent resource for families in advent

This gave our family an enjoyable time during advent, reminding ourselves of the nativity story whilst also putting the birth of Jesus into a whole bible perspective. Our 3 and 10 year old enjoyed the discussions, although our 12 year old was a bit too old. Great to have a calendar with biblical rather than secular pictures as well as Bible verses.

Brilliant

This is a lovely advent calendar and the booklet that accompanies it is perfect. The children really enjoyed it.

Very good

Using this with my 5 year old and 2 year old. They are really enjoying it. Not too long, although you could lengthen depending on your audience's attention span. Read ahead though, as the explanation of how babies are made might be a bit too accurate very young children!

Great advent calendar

I bought this calendar for the 5 children I childmind. The three 6 year old boys particularly wanted to take turns each day to open that day and read it out loud. I didn't go all through the page in the book each day, I just briefly summarised what it said. I wanted them to see something of the real meaning of Christmas.

Daily advent readings, with an activity every day too

I bought this to do with my children aged 4, 6 & 8, and they really enjoyed it! I had to adjust some bits to make it more age appropriate, so a wee read beforehand always helped. The kids looked forward to opening the door, reading the verse and listening to the passage for that day, then doing the activity. Artwork was lovely too. I've kept it safe to use again next year.

Kids really looked forward to it every day.

We have a 6 yr old boy and 4 yr old girl and they really connected with the calendar and booklet. We tried one last year and they weren't ready but this year it worked very well. We didn't make anything, but did the talking bits which were great. The prayer section worked well too.

Excellent

We used this calendar pack every evening during advent with our three children, aged 11, 8 & 6. It was pitched just right - not to long or short, and gave us the opportunity to extend our older boys understanding. It fitted in just right after meal time. In fact if we forgot, our children were quick to remind us!

A truely excellent resources and centred on the Gospel truth.

Our family loved it

I think this is a great way to help a family focus on the real meaning of Christmas together. Our kids (ages 7, 5, 3 and 1), especially the older two enjoyed it very much and were eager to open the windows, read the verses and have us read the devotional guide to them. We used "The Real Christmas Tree" pack last year and it was equally as good.

Excellent Family Advent Calendar

We have all thoroughly enjoyed this advent calendar. Our children (aged 7 & 9) have found it fun and have been very keen to join in and do the readings and activities. It takes about 5 min each day, and we have found it fits in best for us at the end of a meal. It is a very good adaptation of the Christmas story and is a great thing to do as a family to prepare for celebrating the coming of Jesus.

Great!

We have been using these advent calendars for the last few Christmases with our girls (now aged 4 and 7). We spend about 10 minutes at a meal time opening the door, looking at the bible verse and exploring the Christmas story a bit more with the help of the little book that comes with the calendar. My girls like the activities that the book suggests but we don't always do all the activities depending on time. It's a good alternative to doing family bible study (like table talk) during December and if you remember to buy chocolate coins you can bribe them to join in!
Also a great present for god-children, nephews, nieces etc. to explain the Christmas story.
