XTB (eXplore The Bible) is a series of daily Bible reading notes for children of the 7-11 age group, with puzzles, pictures and prayers.
XTB is beautifully presented with full-color illustrations and is a series of 12 books which, if used on a quarterly basis, will help a child cover all of the main books, themes and characters of the Bible in 3 years.
These are a great resource for moving from story book bibles to reading the Bible. We use them with my 9 and 7 year olds and they love the activities and find them engaging. The ‘think and pray’ bit helps them to apply God’s word and can promote further conversation.
Used these will all our children to introduce them to having their own quiet time. Tie in nicely to table talk used in family worship.
I was given the E Mail address of this company by a friend when searching for devotional literature for children and young people and would recommend this company without hesitation.
My 7 year old who is a confident reader loves doing his XTB each morning. He loves how they teach you through different books of the bible and the fun exercise are really engaging and help him to remember what he has learnt.
My 8 & 6 years old love using this material. It taught them to read the bible (actual bible) themselves in a bitesize and thinking through what it says. They love the exercise that comes with it too.
I got the entire series for my 8 year old daughter for her quiet time and have seen that she starts her day with her own bible reading and a short prayer time and enjoys all the activities in them as well. It is a great help for her to read her actual bible and she has read a few chapters of Acts and Genesis already!! (-in 20 days...These were part of a birthday present for 9th of June). Praying that she grows into spending a regular time in the Word of God and prayer on her own and it is a habit that starts now. Praise Jesus for this timely resource.
My 9 year old loves these. We’ve struggled to find daily bible notes that are manageable for him but these are great. Short, concise and clear - with great and biblical truths. He can happily do them in his own - but we do them together at bed time. The little quizzes are fun, and the addition of stickers etc works very well. I think they would suit most children aged 7-11 (younger ones would may need a little help).
The XTB collection is a great fun easy way to study scripture with children. The activities, puzzles and stop think and pray are a brilliant way to get children thinking and talking about God. The studies are age appropriate and help parents to explain bible passages and Christian living to children.
These are outstanding resources for meditations and devotions for all ages. We have our elementary-aged, middle school-aged, and high school-aged children all doing daily devotions that are based off of Scripture in light of the big picture of the gospel! My wife and I also are using this for us. Best resources I have found for family individual meditations on Scripture that are theologically sound.
A really good resource for reading the Bible with your kids :)
