The resurrection of Jesus from the dead is an extraordinary thing to believe. Such a supernatural event is the stuff of make-believe, many think. Yet millions of Christians around the world believe that Jesus' resurrection was a real, historical event. Indeed, "if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith" and Christians are "of all people most to be pitied." (1 Corinthians 15)
In this concise book, respected apologist Rebecca McLaughlin outlines the evidence that Jesus really did rise from the dead and why it's the best news ever.
Ideal to give away at Easter outreach services and events, as well as to give to new Christians wanting to remind themselves of the evidence for their faith.
In 'Is Easter Unbelievable?' Rebecca McLaughlin leads us through the gospels to the historicy, the ethical, the credible and the disirability of the events that occured on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and their ongoing effects on the world we live in today. Rebecca wears her academia lightly in order to persuade us that these events matter, bringing in asoects of her domestic life.
I would recommend his book to anyone - the Christian who wants to know about their Saviour and the inquirer who wants to know more about Jesus.
A short, straightforward book about the Easter events and their meaning. Would be good to give to anyone wondering "what's it all about." Moves from what are the facts to what it could mean for me.
This was such a great concise read. Perfect to give to anyone considering the claims of Easter. I was challenged and encouraged by the last chapter to rethink the way I think about the offer of eternity that Jesus gives to any who will take it.
