About this book

Ask the average person about women from the Old Testament and they will probably imagine that these ancient documents have little to say. After all, doesn't the Bible come from an age in which women were totally repressed? In fact, until recently, hasn't the Bible itself been responsible for keeping women down?

If these are opinions that you share or have come across, then this Good Book Guide will give you a totally different view of the Bible. It examines the lives and experiences of seven women from ancient Israel, highlighting their flaws and their faith, their struggles and solutions. Women who were wives, mothers and worshippers of God — from a pagan prostitute to a prophetess waging war.

"The format is very user-friendly and the content is rich and accessible."

I love this small group study guide series from The Good Book Company. Christians are regularly told they should spend more time studying God’s Word, but sometimes there’s not a clear plan for how to do this. These study guides provide practical, step-by-step guidance on working through books of the Bible, along with wonderful questions that encourage reflection and application. I hope churches and Christian ministries will take advantage of this wonderful resource.

The aim of the The Good Book Company is to be biblical, relevant and accessible, and nothing embodies that ethos more than their Good Book Guides. Each guide provides a framework for your group to dig into the text of Scripture for itself while providing enough of a steer to keep you on track plus useful pointers towards application. The result is a great combination of fidelity to Scripture and ease of use.

5.00 stars Very informative and well set out

This has been a very useful resource and I will be recommending it to other house groups in my church.

4.00 stars Good and challenging

This study is very good. Perfect for someone new to leading Bible studies. The group have appreciated the detail and the challenging questions. I am a little disappointed with the copy I purchased as some of the printing is very pale but I know you can’t check every book.

4.00 stars Thought provoking

Started a women’s Bible study. I am using this book as the basis of our studies. We don’t cover every question in the sessions as we wouldn’t have time but I look at them all so can draw on them and we have great discussions.
