About this book

Letting Jesus take control of your life is a scary thought and a stumbling block for many. It's easy to think that following Jesus would make life less fun and more limited. Drawing on his decades of introducing the real Jesus to people, founder of NewFrontiers Terry Virgo reveals the surprising truth that the Jesus who turned water into wine is ready to make every life taste better, both now and eternally. Because when we let Jesus take charge, our biggest problems are sorted out and we are free from the pressure of relying on ourselves for everything.

Easy-to-read, short, clear, faithful and conversational, this is a perfect book to give to a non-believing friend.

Wayne Grudem Research Professor of Bible and Theology, Phoenix Seminary, Phoenix, Arizona

A charming, short and very readable introduction to Christianity, through the lens of a very surprising story. Bright, clear and illuminating.

Andrew Wilson Teaching Pastor, King's Church London; Author, God of All Things

With beautiful simplicity, practical wisdom, and biblical truth Terry Virgo invites every true seeker to meet the true Jesus who shapes lives for good.

Tope Koleoso Jubilee Church London

Terry Virgo's claim in this joyful little book is that when we find ourselves going through crisis, worry and tension, Jesus Christ wants to come and help us. Not like some kind of genie but the amazing Lord who wants to take charge and transform our lives. If, like me, you've ever wondered if God could possibly want to be involved with your life, then this is a great book for you. As Terry says, the real Jesus who gives abundant life "is really worth knowing".

Marcus Honeysett Director of Living Leadership and author of Finding Joy and Meltdown

Terry has painted a real life Jesus in this small-sized book. It is brilliant in content, practical in application and easy to understand. It is also a great tool to introduce Christ to your family and friends who are from other faith.

Vinu Paul Leader, Living Hope Church, India

I really love this book, and I’m delighted to commend it. Written for the person who is fine on the surface, but underneath there is a crisis - which is most of us! But as you'll see, you have to trust Jesus to take over. So do you think you can trust Him?

Rico Tice Founder, Christianity Explored Ministries

Many people wrongly assume that Jesus came to persuade us to be more religious. Nothing could be further from the truth. In this short and engaging book, Terry Virgo draws on his own personal experience, and explains from John’s gospel that Jesus came so that we can enjoy the gift of abundant life. He shows how Jesus is able to meet all our needs, especially our urgent need to get right with God for eternity. This is an ideal resource for people who are investigating the Christian faith. It will introduce them to Jesus and encourage them to take up his offer of the best possible life.

John Stevens National Director, Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches, UK

Terry Virgo has a great gift for explaining deep truth very simply. My own life has been transformed through reading his books, and I've no doubt that this short book will transform many other lives too.

Phil Moore Leader of Everyday Church, London, and author of the "Straight to the Heart" series of Bible commentaries

Having had the privilege of knowing Terry for many years, I’ve always found something very refreshing and life-giving about him – a joy and peace that comes from his strong relationship with Jesus Christ. This wonderful little book, Life Tastes Better contains many of the principles that undergird Terry’s own experience: an experience that can be yours, too, if you read and receive!

Dr Dave Smith Senior Pastor, KingsGate Community Church

Terry Virgo wasn't always a Christian. But he dedicated his life to God as a young man. Over the decades since he has tasted and seen that living for Jesus is better than all the world has to offer. Allow Terry to introduce you to Jesus too through this great little book.

Adrian Warnock Author of Hope Reborn, How to Become a Christian and Live for Jesus

This book is a brilliant introduction to Jesus, the real man who was God. I would recommend it to everyone searching for God, or those new to Christianity, helping people take those first faith steps into a transformed miraculous life.

Guy Miller Leader of the Commission church network

People are hungry for God and often go searching but find religion or something less. Terry takes you straight to Jesus. He takes the first miracle Jesus performed, turning water into wine at a wedding, shows us Jesus in a powerful way. I highly recommend this to all my friends looking for Jesus and those wanting to know him better. I read everything Terry writes.

Bob Roberts Senior Pastor, Northwood Church, Texas

Terry Virgo invites us to encounter the real Jesus of Nazareth - a Jesus who is often provocative, almost always surprising and who ultimately comes to take charge of our lives. This Jesus is the one who changes everything!

Jeremy Simpkins Leader of the Christ Central church network

By explaining a well known gospel miracle and the challenge to be a radical and obedient follower of Jesus, Terry makes this short book a very useful part of the reader's journey to faith.

Stuart Bell Senior Pastor of Alive Church and leader of the Ground Level network of churches

A real wedding. A real crisis. A real solution. If Jesus cares this much about the details of a wedding, imagine how much he cares about our lives. That is what this book is about. God cares about you.

A superb introduction to the person and work of Jesus. Reading it from cover to cover could be the most important fifteen minutes of your life.

PJ Smythe Lead Pastor of Covenant Life Church, Virginia

Terry has provided a concise and beautiful summary of how Jesus truly brings the better wine – the better and more abundant life – to all who believe in Him! For anyone wanting to understand who Jesus is, what he has done to change your life, and how you might respond in faith, this book is for you.

Jeff Vanderstelt Lead Teaching pastor of Doxa Church, Visionary leader of Saturate and the Soma Family of Churches, and author of Saturate and Gospel Fluency.

5.00 stars A surprising little book

A surprising little book, or rather booklet, of some 40 pages, most readable particularly for today's younger generation. Fresh off the press, I can see many people buying multiple copies! A teenage friend wrote: “ 'Life Tastes Better' is an interesting read for anyone intrigued about religion and their own faith in Jesus, and is an easy way to question what you want to gain from being a Christian. The conversational tone and personal anecdotes make the book an easy and relatable piece of text in which I personally saw reflections of my own day-to-day life. Virgo diminishes misconceptions about ...
