Introduce kids 3+ to God’s good design for us to work together and help each other. Whether they’re shy, sociable, timid or convinced they can “do it themselves,” children will discover that we are wonderfully made to need one another.
Beloved Bible teacher Jen Wilkin uses memorable rhymes and delightful storytelling to show kids that it’s wonderful when we live, work and play as a team.
Marveling at Rommel Ruiz’s vibrant illustrations as they listen to the story, kids will see that…
Starting with the story from Genesis 2 of Adam naming pairs of animals and then God creating Eve, this book lays a foundation for kids to discover…
“From these two came four and more,
Helpers, siblings, friends galore
Boys and girls all made to be
Partners in God’s family.”
With childlike simplicity and deep theological insight, Jen Wilkin shows kids that God has given us a gift in giving us each other.
Ok I was already captivated by the beauty of this book cover.. but what’s inside was so much more beautiful that I anticipated!
As a mom in a house of boys- I focus a lot of my energy on “men”. This book was an unexpected breath of fresh air for my femininity.
It wonderfully shows Gods design of creation and ...how it points to a longing for a compatible companion for man- woman.
The illustrations are mesmerizing, the rhythmic Text flows beautifully and it points to the love of our Creator to make man and women different yet cohesive in His might plan.

I received Made Like Me compliments of The Good Book Company in exchange for my honest review.
Made Like Me is author and Bible teacher Jen Wilkin’s first children’s book. From the content to the illustrations, this book is absolutely lovely. It uses poetry to help children understand that God created men and women to work together in His family.
When I first read the book, I cried. I’ve heard many sermons that have made women out to be inferior and not necessary to the kingdom of God. Although this book is for children, it comforted my heart as an adult.
The message that men and women are partners in God’s kingdom is essential for kids to hear early on. This book does a wonderful job of laying the foundation for further conversations about men and women in the church kids will likely have with their parents as they grow older.
I’m so grateful to have this book in our home library, as it’s one I’ll enjoy reading repeatedly to my kids.
This is the most beautiful story with some of the most eyepopping art. When you add in the poetry, the biblical insights, and the message that is being taught, it is a priceless story!
Made Like Me draws the little ones in with the story of creation like never told before, but also with the focal point of the creation of man, and then mankind. The unity of mankind with one another and the blessing of walking beside others in ...this life. It brings us back to a more important truth, of our roots all tracing back to this point in time and the unity there is in that. But also the intention and plan God put in place by creating more than one, and making us able to continue to create and have more people surrounding us, made like us, in God's image, made for us. We are never alone.
I received a complimentary copy. This review reflects my honest opinion.
