My 3.5 year old daughter loved this advent calendar! She had so much fun opening the flap each night to discover the next picture. The accompanying devotional was great as well. I love how it covered pretty much the entire biblical account surrounding this time, including the angel’s visits prior to the birth and the events that happened afterward. The content led to good family discussion and could be used for children several years older as well. This gave my daughter a clearer understanding of the entire Christmas story and explained the reason for Jesus’s coming. Each night we would ...read the current devotion and also review the story up until that point, with the images to trigger her memory. She learned the story well that way, and was able to retain it. Her Sunday school teachers were impressed with how much she knew when they shared the same accounts in class. This was also a good exercise for my husband and me. It kept the story of Jesus front and center in our minds for the entire month, when the busyness of the holiday season can be distracting. I highly recommend this for families who want to have meaningful discussions leading up to Christmas!
