About this book

ā€œWell done, good and faithful servant." Every ministry leader wants to hear these words when they meet their Lord. But what does successful ministry look like?

There are many books on leadership strategies and church structures, but this one looks at what matters most: the character and attitude of church leaders. It recognizes that the spiritual health of the church leaders in large part determines the spiritual health of the congregation and therefore the success of the ministry.

In this short, punchy, challenging, and at times surprising book, Rico Tice draws on decades of experience in church leadership to call fellow pastors and others with oversight of areas of church ...

Endorsements

Faithful Leaders focuses on two of the most neglected yet most crucial dimensions of leadership: character and godliness. In the plethora of ā€˜how to’ books, this book offers a compass—or a lifeline—to active Christians struggling with discouragement and defeat.

J.D. Greear J.D. Greear, Pastor at The Summit Church

In Faithful Leaders Rico Tice raises his voice to urge us to refocus our ambitions on what matters most. He does so with his characteristic passion for Christ and sobering directness. But he also writes as a humble fellow pilgrim, not as one who has arrived without a struggle. The author comes on his knees to serve us and to urge us to ā€˜strive … for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord’ (Hebrews 12 v 14). That is a posture worth imitating and a lead worth following.

Sinclair B. Ferguson Teaching Fellow of Ligonier Ministries; Chancellor’s Professor of Systematic Theology, Reformed Theological Seminary

I suspect many of us, not just church leaders, spend too much time chasing after success in the eyes of the world (whatever that might be) instead of pursuing faithfulness in the eyes of the Lord. This book is a helpful and much needed corrective.

5.00 stars Making the right choices

I knew about this book for sometime now but only recently read it. I am so glad I did.
This book is certainly suitable and very helpful for Pastors and church leaders. The principles talked about should also apply and appeal to every Christian as they live in Jesus.
More and more secular (worldly) ideas and principles are influencing and super-imposing themselves over church ministry and efforts. It is very helpful of Rico Tice to emphasise that church ministry should be different and in fact unique, as our motivation, conviction, purpose and measure of ā€œsuccessā€ is very different.

5.00 stars Pastor the Pastor

Great book for Christian leaders. It points out the things a leader must get right before he trys to lead others and keep right before the Lord as he grows. Must read for deacons, elders, heads of household.

5.00 stars Excellent and necessary

This book has spoken to me in a fresh way. I’ve been a women’s Bible study leader for many years. It’s easy to fall into a kind of routine. I’m so grateful for Brother Rico Tice for this reminder to define success, fight your sin, lead yourself, and serve your church!
