Our Paid and Earned Media approach is thoughtful and targeted. We seek to select outlets that we have long-term relationships with and/or that have an audience who will resonate the most with your message.
We are always working to grow our media list. While we are glad to receive suggestions for additional media placements, opportunities vary depending on topic, timing, outlet needs, and pre-existing media relations.
Publicity serves as part of a larger, long-term effort to build awareness and trust in your voice and your writing. While it can certainly contribute to book sales, its greatest impact is often seen over time, as readers continue to discover your conversations beyond the initial launch.
If your book is a good fit for publicity efforts, you’ll hear from our publicist. They will establish a collaborative process. Your responsiveness and willingness to engage in opportunities will contribute significantly to the overall campaign.
Your publicist will create a Publicity Tracker that you will have access to throughout the campaign.
Seasoned Author?
If you have prior publicity connections, your publicist would love to hear about them!
New Author?
Don’t worry if your connections are limited; your publicist will act on your behalf to accomplish the majority of the pitching.
Connect with Publicist to review the Publicity Tracker and finalize the Press Kit.
Long Lead Pitching: pitching to podcasts and outlets that plan far in advance
Short Lead Pitching: pitching to radio and outlets that work on shorter timeframes
Repitch to Long Leads
Analyze initial campaign sales metrics, execute seasonal price promotions, and retarget engaged audience leads to maintain steady backlist momentum.
This will vary depending on topic, timing, outlet needs, and pre-existing media relationships. Interview count can range from three all the way up to twenty-five.
As with interviews, article opportunities will vary depending on topic and outlet needs. Your Publicist will work with you to gauge your bandwidth for additional writing before pitching articles.
Remaining sharp on the contents of your book and the questions in your press kit are the two best ways to be prepared for interviews. Some interviewers stick to the press kit while others generate their own questions. Your publicist will provide context for each outlet as needed in the initial invitation for you to consider.
Your Publicist will be in touch post-launch as opportunities arise.
