“This is For You!”
If youâre not single, you might assume this book is not for you, but youâd be wrong. There are two reasons why you should read this book even if youâre in a relationship. Firstly, there will almost certainly be single people in your church that you need to know how to relate to in mutual encouragement and care. Secondly, though you are not currently single, if you outlive your spouse, you then will be.
If you are single, however, this book is vital reading as a brilliant explanation of how to view your singleness through gospel lenses, both theologically and practically.
Through careful exposition, witty humour and sharing stories of personal experience (both her own and of her friends), Dani helps deliver a positive vision for singleness that is not âbeing left on the shelfâ, but that demonstrates the gospel, our ultimate purpose of union with our groom and our unity together as his bride. She does a great job of knocking down the misconceptions that have developed around the topic in the evangelical world and replacing them with healthy, realistic conceptions of the single life. As if all this wasnât enough, she has even placed âeaster eggsâ within the book, as the final page reveals. You can hunt for those as you work your way through.
