The Explore Bible reading notes for September 10–30 (covering 1, 2 and 3 John) were written by Sam Allberry. On May 3, Immanuel Church Nashville, where Sam had been serving as a pastor, announced that the elders had found him to be disqualified from gospel ministry due to his conduct in an inappropriate relationship.

In light of this, we wanted to make you aware before you continue using these notes.

If you would prefer, we can provide an alternative set of notes on 1, 2 and 3 John, written by Tim Thornborough. These are available as a PDF here.
