I love this series because the whole Bible is the story of God and his redeeming a sinful people to himself. Sometimes it's hard to spot the moments in the Old Testament that point us forward to who Jesus is and what he is going to do for his people. At this point we've read both Jonah and Esther and it did such a good job of helping the kids see Jesus. I do think that the Jonah story was maybe more of a contrast than a comparison (like the Esther story) but it still points to Jesus nonetheless. It ...is good practice to help kids want to look for those Jesus moments in other parts of Scripture and even just to see those moments in our daily lives as well.
I also suspect that there might be some adults who get a chance to make connections they hadn't seen before as well. So great for both kids and parents as they learn together. Looking forward to more like this!

⚓️I love this series because it helps us to read familiar Old Testament stories, but with eyes that search for clues of the coming savior.
❤️While the Bible is *for* us, it is not about us and ...this book does an excellent job pointing readers to the Messiah instead of trying to make it about ourselves.
Clues of Jesus' coming are all over the Old Testament and the Jesus Moments series really makes it evident! 👏🏼

We’ve been loving reading this Jonah book together, it weaves a retelling of Jonah’s story with Jesus’ to show how it points to Christ. It’s also richly illustrated which captures the mood of the story really well.
It gives a really accessible introduction to theology for children and helps them to begin to ...notice how Jesus is signposted throughout the Old Testament. It’s made me want to check out the other books in the series too!
