We will also see that we do not need to have any particularly impressive gifts or emulate anyone else in order to answer Jesus’ call to love one another.

Steve points us to a critical and often underdeveloped element of life in the body of Christ: service to one another. Serving, as he points out, is an essential and inescapable part of the Christian life. Where has God placed you? How has he made you? What opportunities are in front of you? Live in light of your King, and lovingly serve him by serving those around you.
We might all be familiar with the regular call from the front of church or from the church newsletter for more volunteers for the coffee rota or the children's ministry, but we perhaps think less about why we should be motivated to serve. This is a great way to think through how we can follow the example of Jesus, as well as a great resource for small groups because of the questions included too. We'll be using this in our home group next year as we consider how we can serve the church and our community
